Vitamin A is necessary for growth (growth regulation) and the formation and development of cells and various tissues (e.g. skin and mucous membranes). The vitamin also plays an important role in the visual process (especially light-dark vision).
Vitamin B1 (also: thiamine) is a water-soluble vitamin and is particularly important for energy metabolism – it acts as a coenzyme in the production of energy from carbohydrates. It is also involved in amino acid metabolism (proteins) and is also important for the nervous system. Vitamin B1 ensures the maintenance of nerve and heart muscle tissue as well as growth.
Vitamin B2 (also: riboflavin) is one of the water-soluble vitamins of the B-complex. As a component of coenzymes, it is involved in numerous metabolic reactions, including the respiratory chain, metabolism of fatty and amino acids and various other vitamins. Vitamin B2 plays an important role in normal cell function, growth and development.
Vitamin B6 is important for many enzymatic processes and has a variety of functions, including the metabolism of amino acids, haemoglobin formation (red blood pigment) and the nervous and immune systems.
Niacin is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group (formerly: vitamin B3). It is a component of many important coenzymes and is significantly involved in the formation and breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins as well as in energy metabolism. It is also important for the repair of DNA in the cell as well as for cell division and the immune system.
Inulin is a prebiotic that serves as food for beneficial intestinal bacteria and thus helps to build up a healthy intestinal flora. As today’s foods have fewer and fewer prebiotic properties, the beneficial intestinal bacteria suffer from virtual starvation and become weaker and weaker. This allows harmful bacteria to spread more and more, which feed on simple sugars and proteins. It is therefore important to provide the beneficial intestinal bacteria with sufficient food so that harmful bacteria do not get the upper hand.
The ingredients of the pomegranate lower blood pressure, are good for the brain, the liver and the intestines. They strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation and can also alleviate pain. An effectiveness against cancer cells has also been proven in veterinary studies. In prostate cancer in particular, the development of tumour cells is inhibited and slowed down. The positive effects of the pomegranate can therefore be very helpful as a second pillar to classical therapy.
Ribose contributes to the energy supply of the muscle / muscle cells with ATP (= adenosine triphosphate). ATP is consumed by the muscle during movement phases / training phases and must be synthesised again by the body after consumption. Ribose helps with this by being absorbed by the muscle cells and consumed during ATP formation.
Acai berry extract
The acai berry is known for its antioxidant effect and its stimulating effect on the metabolism. Rich in vitamins and minerals, it also contributes to a healthy diet. The acai berry contains a high proportion of antioxidants, which are said to have a cell-protecting effect. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect in the body. In addition, the acai is rich in vitamins and minerals, especially calcium, and can thus contribute to a healthy function of the nerves, muscles, cell division and metabolism.
Aronia fruit extract
In addition to its anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, the aronia berry also offers benefits for diabetics, as it stabilises blood sugar and supports the health of the cardiovascular system. The many antioxidants are mainly responsible for this. A study by the US Department of Agriculture found that aronia berries contain more antioxidants than related fruits such as blackberries, elderberries or blueberries. This high concentration of antioxidants also plays a role in cancer prevention.
Psyllium husk powder
Psyllium husks are considered very healthy, enrich a wholesome diet and help with irritable bowel syndrome and many other problems related to the gastrointestinal tract. Psyllium husks are also often recommended to support weight reduction. Due to their valuable ingredients and good tolerability, psyllium husks are versatile. They are a particularly easily digestible form of dietary fibre whose properties have a positive effect on health with almost no side effects. Their excellent swelling properties, which are due to the mucilage they contain, are responsible for a whole range of health-promoting properties.
The effect of L-carnitine relates in particular to fat metabolism: the protein compound transports long-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria. (Mitochondria are considered the “power plants of the cell”).
There, the fatty acids are converted into energy in a process called β-oxidation. A particularly large number of mitochondria exist in muscle cells, nerve cells, sensory cells and oocytes.
Due to its effect as a transporter for long-chain fatty acids, L-carnitine is often used to support fat metabolism in weight loss.
