What is hard water?
Hard water is water that has a high content of dissolved minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium ions. Hard water forms when rainwater seeps through rock layers containing calcium and magnesium, such as limestone, marl, or gypsum. During this process, it dissolves calcium and magnesium compounds from the rocks and absorbs them in dissolved form.
